PURPOSE
Here at Black House K9, we teach in a balanced and positive way. Teaching with positive methods, consistency, and repetition takes everyone a long way. But dog training is not only training behavior is understanding and knowing how to read dogs. To help us understand what our lovely pets need from us to help them live in a less stressful environment and improve their quality of life. The key to success for our furry friends is guidance, communication, support, and love.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
Growing up with dogs and being a previous dog trainer for a police department has enhanced my communication skills with dogs. We must teach our pets through guidance, love, and communication to build the best foundation.
My love for dogs started with a Pitbull mix named Sol. Back then, I was afraid of dogs, but she showed affection and kept me company from middle school to my first job as a police officer at age 24. Today my love for pets and dog training has grown more. I was a K9 handler and trainer for approximately 6years. I was lucky to learn how to train and handle scent detection and apprehension dogs. I also enjoyed participating in K9 presentations in the community and schools because it helped me improve my public relations and to cherish my customers. Today, I compete in the Schutzhund sports of IGP that consist tracking, obedience, and protection.
GOALS
We never stop learning at Black House K9 and are always looking to further our dog training education and certifications.
